Just a few weeks ago, my friend Thomas and I were holidaying in the
Czech Republic. We heard a lot of good stories and exciting experiences
from our friends who have made the trip to this European country. While
we were there, we visited various places of interest and the main
tourist attractions. Through our own research and information provided
by our friends, Czech Republic was extremely famous for its museums,
art and cultural centers and their exotic eastern European delicacies.
Although we enjoyed all of the above, there was one particular activity
which Thomas and I will never ever forget; that is tandem jumps
otherwise more widely known as tandem skydiving.
The citizens of Czech Republic were very enthusiastic when it came
to this extreme sport and in their own native tongue, tandem jumping is
known as tandemovy seskok (it mean tandem jump in czech lng) or tandemove seskoky padakem
. The people of Czech Republic have various companies running such
sports for their own citizens and tourists alike. Furthermore, the
prices charged are similar and the services provided by each of them
are very good. To those of you that are unfamiliar of this sport or
have never heard of it, feel free to read on. Tandem jumping or should
I say tandemove seskoky
is done with a student skydiver being connected by a harness to a
tandem instructor. Then, the instructor will guide the student through
the entire jumping process i.e from exit from the plane to freefall,
piloting the canopy and finally the landing.
Just browsing through the brochure made Thomas and I really excited
because both of us are thril seekers and we have always wanted to try
such extreme sports. Without any hesitation, we immediately signed up
for one session. The instructor took both us in a plane up to a
suitable height before informing us it was time to jump. Obviously, we
were both nervous as this was our first time going through such an
activity. However, we muster all our courage and went through with it
and it was all worth it. Once we were in the sky, all nerves and scary
thoughts were wiped away as we enjoy the adrenaline rush and the gush
of cool wind. The entire process took about 15 minutes before we
landed. It was definitely well worth the amount of money we paid.
In conclusion, if you are visiting the Czech Republic in the near future, don’t forget to give tandem jumping a try!
